Napa Valley

Yesterday and today we spent two fairly quiet days, catching up with laundry, bill paying and just relaxing a bit here in Napa Valley.Yesterday we decided to find REDD, a wonderful restaurant owned by Rick, the son of Dick and the late Ann Reddington.  It is in the town of Yountville, a really cute town with shops, galleries and wonderful restaurants.  We enjoyed it so much, we returned to Yountville today and walked the area stopping for lunch at Pacific Blues, sitting under an arbor of wisteria.  Didn't know wisteria had pods hanging from it.

We did learn that it is VERY hard to find a hotel in the Napa Valley/San Francisco area during crush time (for the grapes), the America's Cup race and Oracle is holding a two week international conference in SF. (The US sailboat is named the Oracle.)  We were able to find one hotel in the Fisherman's Wharf area through Priceline.  We HOPE it will be ok.  At $400.00 a night (for two nights) we have been told it is a real bargain this time of the year.

Tomorrow we are off to San Francisco.
