Stopped at Big Sur to see the Elephant Seals which were almost extinct a few years ago. Now there are thousands of them sunning themselves on the sand and flipping the sand onto their backs to cover them. Very interesting to watch. A few were playing in the ocean but most were on the beach.
Next stop....San Simeon and the Hearst Castle. The European effects were clearly visible. We toured the upstairs suites, William Randolph's personal bedroom suite, his office and the library plus several guest rooms. Watched a movie about his dream and how the castle came to be. Interesting bit of history about his personal life.
In Ventura for the night and planning to make San Diego by tomorrow.
